Applicant Criteria for Columbia

TO ADOPT A HEALTHY 0 – 59 MONTH OLD, OR 2 SIBLINGS 0 – 6 YEARS

Marriage: Couples must be married a minimum of one year
Age: Both applicants must be 25 to 45 years of age. Both parents have to be at least 15 years older than the child assigned to them, but not more than 45 years older than the child.
Citizenship: One parent must be a U.S. citizen.
History: Parents should not have any major medical issues or criminal history.
Other: Both parents are required to travel.

TO ADOPT A HEALTHY CHILD 5 – 9 YEARS OLD, OR 2 SIBLINGS WITH THE OLDEST SIBLING BETWEEN 7 – 9 YEARS

Marriage: Couples must be married a minimum of one year
Age: Applicants must be 46 – 50 years. Both parents have to be at least 15 years older than the child assigned to them, but not more than 45 years older than the child.
Citizenship: One parent must be a U.S. citizen.
Other: Both parents are required to travel.

The age criteria is waived for families adopting a child 10+ years of age, 3+ siblings of any age, or a child of any age with a physical or psychological special need.

You will be required to complete a foreign dossier. You will be assisted in every step of the process.
