Unfortunately, while many of us are familiar with positive adoption language, most expectant moms that come to us at first do not understand what that means. The most common search term on the internet for expectant moms is “how do I give up my baby for adoption.” If we do not include those words in our blog posts, and instead put “how do I create an adoption plan for my baby” then our website will not show up in most expectant moms’ Google search results.
Dr. Renee T. Alexander will be inspiring us with her insights on how to overcome obstacles. Renee Alexander is visiting lecturer/faculty mentor for Cornell University’s POSSE 9 cohort. Fondly known as “Dr. Renee” to her current and former students, Renee has served in a variety of roles at Cornell, including Associate Dean of Students, University Diversity Officer and Director of Campus Climate Initiatives. Prior to working in higher education, Renee was a marketing/media executive in advertising/publishing in New York City. She holds BA from Cornell University, MS.Ed, Hunter College/CUNY, and PhD, Fordham University Graduate School of Education. Renee is a birth mom, who is reunited with her daughter.
