Please understand that these blog posts are written to use language that people commonly use when searching for help with their adoption plans. Unfortunately, while many of us are familiar with positive adoption language, most expectant moms that come to us at first do not understand what that means. The most common search term on the internet for expectant moms is “how do I give up my baby for adoption.” If we do not include those words in our blog posts, and instead put “how do I create an adoption plan for my baby” then our website will not show up in most expectant moms’ Google search results.
Jordan Whitaker’s Eagle Scout Project for Birth Mothers!
Jordan Whitaker’s Eagle Scout Project for Birth Mothers!
Project Description:
Jordan wanted to make matching quilts for birth mothers and adoptees to share as a way to remember each other. The adoption process can be very stressful and emotional. These quilts could help to heal the emotional loss experienced by the birth mothers as they choose a better life for their children by placing them for adoption. Later in life as the adoptees get older their quilt can serve as a way to connect with their birth mother and know of the love she has for them. Adoption agencies often don’t have the funds to purchase gifts like these.
Sewing Night:
Jordan held a sewing night on April 6th, 2018 for volunteers to help make the quilts. 51 people participated that night. We completed 61 quilts.
Total project hours: 204.91 Total participants: 62
