Miss Eagle Mountain
My name is Alyssa Diaz and I am the current reigning Miss Eagle Mountain and I will compete for the title of Miss Utah in June of this year. As a contestant in the Miss America Organization, I get to choose a service platform to dedicate myself to you and I have I titled my platform Adoption: A Choice of Love. Four years ago I found out that my mother is actually a birth mother and that I have had an older sister my entire life and that she was ready to finally meet me and my siblings. I laughed out loud I was so happy! Ever since then my family has experienced so many blessings by gaining my older sister Nichole and her entire adoptive family. Nichole’s adoptive mother has always expressed how grateful she is that she was trusted with Nichole and that her little family was complete. I have chosen to do this fundraiser for an adoptive family in Eagle Mountain that has chosen adoption to complete their family. I am so excited to be just a small part in that eternal happiness they will experience as they expand their family. There are so many sides to adoption and it affects so many people. If I were to be crowned Miss Utah I would love to be able to work closely with United for Adoption in hosting events that cater to each individual facet of the adoption community. I love adoption in the happiness that it can bring into people’s lives and hope to continue to be a positive advocate with or without a crown.
